JonDeTech Thermopile ProductsJonDeTech has at the moment two thermopile heat sensing products: the JIRS3 and JIRS5 detectors. Both are so called thermal radiation sensors and measures from mid infrared to visual light. The differences between these two products are the sensor area (footprint),3x3 and 5x5 mm respectivly, and the sensitivity. The larger the sensor area, the higher the performance (i.e. voltage response to irradiance).
The JonDeTech thermopile gives a direct, proportional voltage response when subjected to infrared light (thermal radiation) or heat. The sensor registers wavelengths from visual light up to the mid infrared region (at least 20 µm). The unique geometrical configuration where the thermocouple leads/legs are "vertically" arranged makes it possible to also use it as a heat flux or ΔT sensor, i.e. the heat gradient over the thickness (less than 0.2 mm) of the thermopile chip is actually measured. The JonDeTech thermopile SMDs are robust and they can be used "bare", i.e. without protective housing such as a metal container. The performance of the sensors is illustrated in the video above. Ordering InformationYou can order an Evaluation Kit (which can, if desired, be tailored to meet your specific demands). More information on this and customer options is found in JonDeTech Evaluation Kit. For more information contact us using the information request form, or by email to info@jondetech.se. The performance of the sensors is illustrated in the video above. Key Features of the Thermopile
